The National Health Insurance Company – Daman has launched on Saturday, 14 November Train Al Ain event in Hazza Bin Zayed stadium, which coincided with the start of Al Ain Hospital’s Diabetes Awareness Initiative.
Nearly 500 participants walked around the Hazza Bin Zayed stadium as part of Train Al Ain’s kick-off event to raise awareness about diabetes, and also mark the launch of Al Ain Hospital’s new initiative.
The partnership between Daman, Al Ain Hospital and Hazza Bin Zayed stadium seeks to raise the community’s awareness that 30 minutes of brisk walking every day, can reduce the risk of developing diabetes. Participants will walk their way to better fitness in the inspiring and world class facilities of the home of Al Ain Football Club – the Hazza Bin Zayed stadium.
Train Al Ain is an expansion of Daman’s highly successful ActiveLife’s successful weekly events which includes Train Yas and Go Yas in Abu Dhabi, and Train Dubai in Dubai.
The event which will be held every Monday starting Nov 23rd from 6-9 pm, is free of charge for everyone, and is organized by the National Health Insurance Company – Daman with the support of Hazza bin Zayed Stadium, which is an architectural landmark , and one of the most sophisticated sports facilities in the region.

These weekly events seek to bring the community together and create unique experiences that people look forward to every week, inspiring and motivating each other to get fit and healthy. We at Daman, wholeheartedly support the growth of this event which is for everyone, and we look forward to contributing towards a physically active Al Ain community,” said Dr. Sven Rohte, Chief Commercial Officer at Daman.
“We are committed to being actively involved in our community,” said Humaid Emhe Al Mansouri, the acting executive director of the Al Ain Hospital. “The risk of lifestyle diseases including diabetes can be greatly reduced by paying attention to our health and fitness. We hope to educate the community to take the right steps towards preventing this disease, which unfortunately does not have a cure”, he added.
Al Ain Hospital will also offer free diabetes screening on Sunday, 15 November at its premises.

According to the International Diabetes Federation, 19 per cent of the UAE’s population has diabetes. The National Agenda for World Class Healthcare in the UAE’s Vision 2021 seeks to reduce this figure to 16.3 per cent by 2021.
The National Health Insurance Company- Daman and in cooperation with Hazza bin Zayed Stadium announced launching the Train in Al Ain activity.
